Echo celebrated National Engineers Week (February 17-21, 2019) all week with wide variety of fun events. National Engineers Week was created in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers, and is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.
Our Engineering Team's schedule of events included:
Monday, February 18th
Wheel Breakfast: Man invented the wheel for transportation, but more importantly, man invented the sugar wheel, commonly known as a "donut", for delicious consumption
New Building Tour: The team went and checked out our new headquarters
Tuesday, February 19th
Taco Tuesday: Speaks for itself
Wednesday, February 20th
Ultimate Engineering Day: Echo's Engineers competed in a small series of challenges to claim the top prize of "Ultimate Engineer / Genius". The 3 part competition included: Constructing the lightest paper structure that could hold a weight 12" off the ground, paper airplane contest, and seeing who could assemble a Lego set the fastest. The winner was awarded a trophy and title of Ultimate Engineer
Thursday, February 21st
Think and Drink: Engineering continued their failure analysis training over drinks at Traders Brewing Company
Dinner: Tacos on Main after work
Go-Karting: All engineers were invited to go Go-Karting over at Speedway Indoor Karting
Friday, February 22nd
EngiNERDing Jeopardy: A competition was held for all employees outside of the engineering dept. to show off their knowledge. The winner received a small prize and the prestigious title of "Honorary Engineer, 2019"
Injection Molding Tour: The engineers went over to see how disc golf discs are injection molded
