Indianapolis - Echo Engineering commits to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana as a Silver Sponsor at the Main Event, an annual sports-themed celebration, in Indianapolis, Indiana on Sept. 6, 2018.

The Silver Sponsorship supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana (BBBSCI) to provide more opportunities for children facing adversity with a one-on-one mentor relationship. Along with the recent sponsorship, BBBSCI visited Echo to encourage employees to participate in the program by taking a mentee, also known as a little.

“It was meaningful… [BBBS] changed the perspective of himself,” said Cassie Fagen, Director of Operations at Echo Engineering, in regards to her personal experience with Big Brothers Big Sisters. According to a BBBSCI representative, BBBSCI expects to increase their matches to 1,250 this year. Although the number of matches continues to rise, multiple counties are still on a waiting list of more than 25 children awaiting a mentor.

Because the list of children continues to grow, the need for mentors continues to rise as well. The Main Event, which features Archie Manning as a keynote speaker, is BBBSCI’s premier philanthropy event of the year with nearly 1,000 business and community leaders gathering together with the same goals of raising awareness and resources to support the organization and the children.

Echo encourages employees and local customers to become involved in the organization either through donation or through personal involvement. If you are interested in becoming a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, please visit their website at bebigforkids.org.
