Sock Drive Commences at Echo for Wheeler Mission

Indianapolis, Ind. – Echo Engineering commences the 2018 Sock Drive on Aug. 22 at Indianapolis headquarters for Wheeler Mission, a local homeless shelter for men, women, and children.

“I just started thinking about my kids,” said Nate Walker, a Project Manager at Echo, in regards to why he donated to the drive. Providing resources and support for the children within the Indianapolis communities is one of Echo’s main philanthropy focuses. In support of the drive, Echo is committed to matching every sock donation from employees to Wheeler Mission.

To commence the sock drive, employees wore their wackiest socks to compete with each other for a grand prize of a gift card and bragging rights.

Although the competition was tough, Austin Gutzwiller, Salesforce Administrator, and Matt Becker, Design Engineer, received the wackiest socks title according to the Echo employees who voted. (Pictured below from left to right.)

The sock drive will last two weeks and end on Sept. 5. Until the drive concludes, Indianapolis employees will continue to compete against each other to donate the most socks. With the building split into two teams, the team with the most socks donated by the end of Sept. 5 will win a morning breakfast.
